When You Feel You Can't Go On...

I understand.  This journey isn’t easy.  Even if you aren’t a survivor of complex trauma, life can be challenging.  Often how I’ve coped with this is giving it to True Jesus.  Overwhelming emotions.  Painful situations.  Sometimes things we can’t even verbalize.  Hopeless despair.

True FAMILY are always willing to take what we want to give Them and hold it until we are able to process it with Them.  But recently Their response surprised me.  I’m including a portion of my journaling on this:

True FAMILY:  We know it is confusing.  We know the struggle and We’ve brought people around you to love you right where you are and to help you process this without judgement.

Me: Okay.  I give all of this to You.

True FAMILY:  We appreciate that you give it to Us.  That is a good thing, but it doesn’t mean for you to check out and forget.  Sometimes when you give things to Us, that is how you are feeling.  But it is meant to be a partnership.  Together we can work through this.

Me:  I can’t stand it.

True FAMILY:  We know.  And that is why We are willing to hold things for you, but it is not for you to just forget.  Not another way to dissociate.

Me:  I can’t hold it all.

True FAMILY:  Yes, We know.  We are helping you step by step.  Don’t look at the overwhelm.  See your hand in Ours.  You are making good progress and We are so proud of you.  There is also much ahead.

Me:  All these little parts are screaming “We are little, we can’t do this”.  Then I see True Jesus showing how we can link arms together with Him and it will be okay.  I hope so.  Thank you, True Jesus!

True FAMILY love to meet us right where we are at and They provide ways of holding on to things for us until we can face them.   And They are showing us how we can do things together with Them.  That is the ultimately goal.  Not to just give it to Them and forget it, but to trust Their loving care each step of the way.  With Them, we can do this!
