Relationships are Messy!

But they are well worth it! I’m grateful to be in a community that values relational connection and that we can work through things (most of the time) when we are triggered. It isn’t easy and often our impulse is to run, but I love to see how God works when we stay in the pain and work through it with True Jesus.
None of us are perfect and we all have our trauma and wounds, some deeper than others. But as we work through communicating it helps to understand each other better and find that our relationships can be strengthened through the pain.
When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, it was a drastic change. They hurriedly tried to figure out on their own how to solve this problem. God came, asking “where are you?”. Not that He didn’t know, but pointing out their running from Him instead of to Him. How many times do we do this?
I want to learn better how to run to True Jesus and not trying to fix things on my own, or run or any of the things we do to deflect or hide from the truth that there are arms open wide to receive us and help readily available. I’m so glad that God is always there. He is not mad at me or disappointed. He knew I would run or hide or try to cover with fig leaves. He draws me back with His love that never fails. I’m finding His solutions are so much better than my own!
In community, it can be challenging because we all have our own stuff. We won’t always be able to respond how we’d like to. Might be triggered too. Misunderstandings and miscommunication. But the more I experience True Jesus’ open arms, I’m learning that I can experience it in community too. It takes courage to reach out.
I’m honored to be part of a community that is learning to do this. To be vulnerable. To love the best we know how. To say the hard things when needed. To trust God when we mess it up. Thank you for having the courage to do this together!
