Looking For and Hastening

With scandals being exposed in the church and the Epstein files, it can feel pretty depressing, depending on the way you look at things.  A passage that has always intrigued me is from 2 Peter 3:12, 13 NKJV “looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?  Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

What does it mean to look for and hasten?  To me, this is another beautiful paradox.  Are we waiting on God or are we supposed to be doing something?  Oh, its both.  Looking towards the restoration that True FAMILY have promised AND participating as They lead us.  Its not passively waiting or frantically trying to change the world.  Our part is watching what They are doing and partnering with Them as They show us the way.  To me this brings hope in what seems like hopeless situations.

It isn’t looking to any man, kingdom, or earthly power for our salvation/restoration, but keeping our eyes fixed on True FAMILY, knowing They have a good, good plan that We can trust.  But if God has a time planned for “His” day, how do we hasten it? It seems like a conundrum, but I’m so glad that He invites us into participating in the joys of restoration.

So when a new scandal breaks or files are dropped, how do we respond?  We can be depressed from a human viewpoint or angry or fearful.  Or we can ask True FAMILY how we can see these things from Their perspective and participate in the restoration They have planned.  I’ve always found this so much more rewarding.   Wow! We get to partner with God!  His plan is to turn every bit of our trauma into the triumph of His love!  Join me in looking for and hastening!
